description

One can date the villa from the architecture of its unique tower, which was constructed around the year 1000 AD. Subsequently, several additions have been built around the tower. The main entrance archway is of "serena" stone and is inscribed with the date 1614. The same noble family has inhabited the villa since 1600. The interior private chapel, dated 1700, gives one the feeling of bygone centuries. The villa has retained all the architectural features of many eras, but possesses conveniences for the discriminating guest, like modern bathrooms, hot water and central heating. The antique furnishings and décor reflect the centuries old style of the villa. One can enjoy many outdoor activities in the neighborhood. The Montedoglio Lake, located only 5 minutes away is wonderful for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. A riding school is also only 5 minutes away. Antognolla Golf & Country club is a splendid 18 hole par 71 course located half hour from the villa.Hiking enthusiasts can walk for hundreds of miles on unspoiled mountain trails, with breathtaking views at every bend of the path. The Villa's swimming pool is a beautiful 5x10 mt located in panoramic view of Sansepolcro valley. Only the guests of the villa's wing can use the lighted Swimming Pool. Near to the swimming pool is a pool house with comfortable changing room, toilet and wash hand basin. On the outside is a hot water shower.
The villa is situated on the gentle slopes of the Tiber valley at the border between Tuscany and Umbria. It can be reached by car from Rome airport in about 3 hours. A walled park with mature trees and its own vineyard surround the estate, offering great privacy. Its guests can admire the valley, the superb view of the town of Sansepolcro, birthplace of Piero della Francesca, and the "Alpe della Luna" mountains. It is very close to Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo (the artist's birthplace), and Monterchi, towns of artistic and historical interest. They all boast great a number of excellent and traditional Tuscan restaurants for all tastes. One hour away by car are the towns of Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and Urbino each offering more art and history as well as more local wines and food of high standard. Florence, Siena and the Republic of San Marino are one and half-hours by car, as is the Rimini coast, where one can experience Italian seafood.
