description

The Villa is a splendid 16th-century villa. The property of one of Florence's oldest families and respected wine makers, it stands on a hill overlooking the Chianti vineyards. Interestingly, the site of the villa originally housed an 11th century observation tower.
In the 16th century this was enlarged and adapted to be restored and completed in the 19th century. The villa commands breathtaking views over rolling vineyards and the Duomo of Florence. The picturesque, two-acre garden was designed in the 1930s by the famous English architect, Cecil Pinsent. The garden leads up to front terrace of the house and makes the perfect spot for reading, relaxing and al fresco dining.
The pool is positioned on one side of the garden overlooking the property's vineyards as they extend towards the Duomo of Florence and Giotto's bell-tower. Newly restored and refurbished by its owners, the villa has charming interiors, is beautifully decorated with trompe l'oeil effects, not to mention superb antique furniture.
Ground Floor: From a large entrance hall, to the right a dining room leads to a large fully-equipped kitchen. A sitting room with a service bathroom leads to the front terrace. To the left of the entrance is a second living room with parquet floor, fireplace and television. Further on a decorated sitting room leads into a large decorated dining room with fireplace and a painted terracotta floor.
First Floor: A two-ramp stairway leads up to a large closet and corridor. To the right there is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom sharing a bathroom with shower. To the left is a spacious double bedroom with sitting room and fireplace and its en suite bathroom with tub.
Second Floor: Up the stairway to the right is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bath. Two twin bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. A sitting room serves these bedrooms. To the back of the stairway there is a large double bedroom with its en suite and very spacious bathroom with both shower and tub.. and a sittting room.
The Tower: On two different levels are located one twin bedroom with its en suite bathroom with tub and shower, and a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower.
