This exclusive Villa situated in lucchesia, is plunged in the country, on the hillside, at 15min approx from Lucca's center; the wonderful Versilia sea, the Abetone's peaks and the mysterious Garfagnana are all reachable in 30 min. It's charmingly situated with a view covering from Lucca towers to San Miniato. The site was inhabited since the Lombard period, V-VI century, as testified by some tower ruins found, later on another tower was built, X-XI century, surrounded then by others structures and in the end by our wonderfull villa, the actual look, that dates back to XV-XVI century, is due to a restoration for the wedding of two members of two of the richest and most influential noble families of Lucca, the Mansi and the Menocchi. Later on it became a covent where renowned Lucca's personalities where living, such as Mr. Barsocchini, between the 1700-1800, a prior and expert-writer of Middle Ages, international renown.
The late restoration preserved all the original features of the structure, the construction materials therefore the stones, the "Cotto", the wood, the hand-forged iron, the fire places, the original frescoes and the '500 partition with the spacious halls and bedrooms, the typical Loggia (balcony) with arches, columns, capitals and frescoes; a thorough example of severity and elegance as testimony of its former prestige and grandeur, a true and beatiful specimen of "Villa Lucchese", as described and codified by the famous architect Mr. Samminiati (1500).
The Villa is about 1300mq, on three floors; at the ground floor there's a 70mq hall with bricks vault while the remaing ceilings are wooden-beamed, there are three bedrooms, one in the old wine cellar and another one in the old olive oil jars store, two bathrooms, a fully furnished kitchen, big central halls with an impressive fireplace, a wood-burning oven and the laundry. At the main floor you will found an ample guest living, about 150mq, with a huge fire place made in stone; a dining room, a living room, a study, another livingroom is inside the tower with the original fire place and a wooden-beam and "cotto" ceiling; one bathroom and a big "Loggia" partly frescoed viewing the Oliveto (olive grove) and the woods; and then the third floor: an ample hall with high ceiling overhanged by an old truss and big wooden beams and "cotto"ceiling, a huge fire place, six bedrooms, one with fire place, all with private bathrooms, some of them with jacuzzi, and an impressive view. The Villa is mainly decorated with antique furniture of high quality and in various styles. In the main halls there is a TV with satellite system; the building is provided with a floor heating system except for the tower that has a traditional one. The Villa is surrounded by a garden and the Oliveto, furthermore there is a tank (9x3mt)of the Renaissance period, it used to be a fish tank, and now after the restoration will be the perfect refreshing spot during the hot summer days. In this place it will be easy to gain back the inner balance between body and soul, to regain the quiet through the contact with the nature, with the peace of these hills, following the nature rhythms and sinking into the enchanting atmospheres of each Villa corners; it is the perfect place for the ones who appreciate the essence of a real holiday far from the busy and modern turist resorts..........a creaking door or a noisy floor made with ancient wood, the capricious door of a really old wardrobe are not deemed as faults by special kind of people, this Villa is dedicated to those people....
